So for that last journal I did, I was actually doing a little bit of an experiment. I wanted to see who would be interested/stoked if I started working on the Dolls' story in the near future. All of the responses I got were A & C, from people who wanted to be polite and tell me no pressure, but also wanted to show their affection for my characters. (At least, that's what I gathered from it.)

Last night I had a couple of major realizations. The problem I had been having is that because I've had the Dolls and their story for so long, I've written and rewritten it so many MANY times and changed it up each time. With this iteration, I had no idea how I would present it or how the plotline would go. But last night I got two ideas. One: move the inciting incident that would have happened much later in the story to closer to the beginning, thus getting rid of a ton of unnecessary exposition and jumbled-up plotholes the original story had. Two: Write each chapter in a way that it feels more like an episode of a TV show with a large, overarching plotline. The feel I want for this story is essentially: "Gravity Falls if it were allowed to swear and show large amounts of blood." So why not do that in an episodic fashion, rather than a "chapter 1: X events. chapter 2: Y events. Chapter 3..." sort of fashion? I'm still not sure if I should call each part "chapters", but I probably will regardless.

With that said, expect the first chapter of 'Darcy the Brave' this week.
